Glacial Thaw

Thursday, March 11, 2010

Springtime’s burst of energy is always refreshing, but the churning unpredictability of recent weather (via climate change) saps some of the excitement about rising temperatures. As dead zones balloon in the oceans, the UN is grasping for direction and memories of the Copenhagen Summit now linger like the stench of thawing permafrost. All that being said, spring is still pretty frickin’ awesome. Good-bye dirty black coat, hello powder-blue jacket: The Horn of Plenty celebrates spring with The Mantle’s first mixtape, “Glacial Thaw.”

DJ Chew Rocks warms it up with tracks popping like cherry blossoms - spring cleaning has come to the Horn of Plenty’s music library. The colorful selection includes:

  1. Zapp “Be Alright”
  2. Georgia Anne Muldrow “Run Away”
  3. Fugitives “Rocksteady”
  4. Jahdan Blakkamoore feat. 77Klash “She Said”
  5. Paul Kass “Underground Agent”
  6. Basement Jaxx feat. Santigold “Saga”
  7. Alborosie “Kingston Town (Uproot Andy Remix)”
  8. Raymond Scott “Lightworks”
  9. Nite Jewel “Chimera”
  10. Feist “I Feel It All (Britt from Spoon Remix)”
  11. Ratatat “Mirando”
  12. Karizma “Time”
  13. Kleeer “Intimate Connection”
