Ather Zia is from Kashmir. She has published her first collection of poems, "The Frame," and her work has appeared in a variety of magazines, including Convergence Journal, Blazevox, and others. Her work of creative fiction is forthcoming. When not writing she is a graduate candidate in anthropology at UC Irvine. This blog pivots around Kashmir, my homeland, which is my inspiration and subject of my research. It also carries my thoughts on writing and poetry, which are my lifeblood. It conveys general events that occur in my life as a mother to young children, who most of the time enrich my world, and many times test the limits of human patience.
